Eugene Barilo von Reisberg, PhD Cand., Director of BvR Arts Management, has a combined experience of over 25 years in the arts industry.

He has held a number of positions in museums, art galleries, and art auction houses, and has developed an intimate knowledge of Australian and International art and its market trends.

Since establishing BvR Arts Management in 2000, Barilo von Reisberg has managed a number of corporate and private art collections; and has acted in advisory and consulting roles to a diverse cross-section of public and commercial galleries, auction houses, corporate and private collectors, and art foundations.

He has sourced and placed significant artworks by prominent Australian and International artists with the National Gallery of Australia, National Library of Australia, National Gallery of Victoria, Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery, Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory, and further public, tertiary, and corporate art collections.

Barilo von Reisberg writes for exhibitions and art auction catalogues; contributes articles and reviews to print and web-based publications; and regularly delivers lectures on diverse areas of art, history, and the art market.

His expertise on Franz Xaver Winterhalter (1805-73), internationally renowned nineteenth-century portrait painter, has received world-wide acknowledgement, and Barilo von Reisberg is currently engaged on a doctoral dissertation about the artist at the University of Melbourne.
